Newspaper Video

from dead trees to moving pictures

Its the begining of the season here and my new paper seems to be interested in what I am doing. However, unfortunatly none of the blunts know how to embed into the CMS and nobody can show me how to help them.
Any coments on the edit would be helpfull. Does it work?

Thanks for your comments I agree about the coach speaking and will see if I can get time to re edit. I thought the piece didn't suffer too much with the stills and cuts with the beats but will have another look at that too. Problem/excuses is/are trying to shoot stills and video together and in the 1st half! Apreeciate your feedback :-)

Hey David - glad to hear there's some interest in video again.

This piece is nice - it's ok to mix stills and video, I think, but when you start cutting to music, the timing and transitions become really important and you need to pay attention to where on the beat the cuts happen and to cut away from the video on transitions (when someone goes out of frame, for instance.) Of course, you need a fairly high-powered video program that shows the audio waveforms and a lot of time to do the edit.... so given the resources, you did well. I would not have put the coach on-screen so long, I think... I would have covered his voice with some action sooner.
