What DOES work in online video?

Folks, some of you may have seen the Poynter piece last week "High Cost, Low
Quality Plague Newspaper Video Efforts."


That article, by Ken Sands, paints a gloomy picture for newspaper video - with which I don't agree. After spending a lot of time delving into our stats, I'm extremely optimistic about online video. Emphatically, our video is on a steady growth curve upwards.

New Sony PMW EX1R XDCAM video camera fixes everything wrong on EX1



Sony will replace the PMW EX1 with the EX1R, which fixes everything wrong with the EX1 - Same wonderful HD image, but new viewfinder, new handgrip, new switches, new tripod socket, even a new DVCAM standard def mode that shoots in AVI files. This camera will rule the VJ world!

New Nikon D3s camera has been announced. Sounds like an awesome still camera, so-so video. $5200 full-frame body can see in darkness at iso 102,400. Does 24fps (only) 720p motion jpeg AVI video, which will be hard to edit in Final Cut. No word on whether it's video-standard… Continue
