I know a video converter can convert m2ts file to normal video files such as mp4, wmv and you can edit the wmv with windows movie maker then. http://www.aimersoft.com/video-converter.html#114 Hope it helps

Those are AVCHD files. You'll need something to transcode them into another format. Voltaic from http://www.shedworx.com/ is one such converter.

My newsroom recently purchased a Canon Vixia HF10...I wish I knew about the difficulty with editing the video files before I bought it. So the Pixela ImageMixer 3SE software the camera comes with saves the files as .i3e or .m2ts. Ok, but now what?...
