Today we released the names of the 8 finalists for the Concentra Prize - $15,000 for best VJ work. Four of the eight finalists are newspaper videographers - a fantastic achievement.

I have been both a working VJ and promoting the concept since 1988. I have built VJ-driven TV stations all over the world, from TV3 Sweden to NY1 to Channel 1 in London to TeleZuri in Zurich, Switzerland. I founded and ran New York Times TV, Video News International, Current.tv, and now Rosenblum Associates, Inc. I have produced more than 400 hours of original programming for various cable networks using this technique. I have consulted with broadcasters, magazine and newspaper groups. My clients are global. I have offices in NY and Brussels. I run a yearly worldwide Newspaper-Video conference in Europe called DNA2009. I give a yearly prize of 10,000 Euros for the best VJ piece submitted.
